There is definitely an air of spring here in the UK and we have been treated to a glorious week of sunshine. It feels wonderful to know that summer is on the way but, before we sell-off the spring season so quickly, make sure you check out our Spring Visions Photo Challenge. I have been treated to some wonderfully seasonal wildlife images and we have received so many entries this month, it is impossible to share them all but, rest assured, this is a feast for the eyes!
For our Ferus Vita article, this month we hear from award-winning wildlife photographer, Andy Skillen, about his experiences of photographing giant river otters in the Pantanal, passing on some valuable advice for your next trip.
This month’s Au Natural article comes from conservationist and wildlife photographer Sabrina Colombo from South Africa, who talks about the important conservation work she does for LEO Africa, and how that’s developed her photography into a passion.
Taking us to a much cooler region is wildlife photographer, Ruzdi Ekenheim, with our Wild Location article focused on Svalbard - a Norwegian archipelago between mainland Norway and the North Pole - providing some great tips to make your journey a reality.
Our monthly Global Awareness feature is dedicated to International Leopard Day on May 3rd. Listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, leopard populations are threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation and are declining in large parts of the global range.
Packed full of incredible photography, our May issue is sure to provide lots of inspiration. With some great advice and tips from our contributors, book reviews and our usual reader features there is plenty to keep you busy until our next issue.
Next month we will be sharing your images in our latest photo challenge - ‘Freeze Frame’. We want to see your best shots of wildlife in action, whether the images are of birds flying, wildlife running or jumping, or you have captured the perfect shot of a confrontation, we want you to express your photographic creativity.
