Roe Deer, Ilfov County, Romania by Razvan-Alexandru Duta

Picture Story

Spring. It is the word that makes me shiver excitedly while watching outside from my window. Apart from the current global situation, the weather this year has been awkward, most days raining and overcast or periods of deep freezing and snow. But the way it looks, the warm weather is just around the corner, which will allow me to wake up again at crazy hours and go to the nearby woods. As not a lot of people visit this area, the wild animals are not very scared allowing you to sneak close to them to catch glimpses of their life. This roe deer male was just casually walking its path as one contender showed up. Needless to say that the entire show took seconds as it chased the intruder away pretty quickly. As I made some almost imperceptible noise while shifting my position, the roe deer heard me and slowly approached my place and frozen for a few moments, as wanting to become one with the bent trees in the background. The lush green of spring added the final touch to the picture, without it likely being just another picture of a deer.
