A puffin enjoying time in the sun on a day that saw mostly rain and clouds.
In late May of this year, I headed over to Skomer Island, Wales in search of the vast variety of birdlife that comes to its shores during the summer to find a mate to breed with.
These small, clown-like birds are a pleasure to watch and certainly make for a great photo if you can get them to stand still long enough.
For this particular shot, I was situated where the cliffs wrapped around in a U shape creating an almost perfect solid black backdrop. Although the weather wasn't favourable for taking photos, thankfully I had brought my 135mm prime lens. Having this lens allowed me to shoot at f2.8 letting all the light that I could into the shot.
