Katydid on my Red Sunflower, Joliet, IL, USA by Sandra Rust

Red Sunflower attracts so many birds, bees, and insects....btw I won the lemon and red sunflower seeds in a photo contest from Nation Wildlife Federation Garden photo contest. So very fun to grow my own sunflower patch. These sunflowers attracted American Goldfinch, Hummingbirds, Butterflies, Bees, and to many insects to mention. They grew around 7-8 feet high and the blooms have lasted for a couple weeks now. The red sunflowers seem larger than the lemon yellow colored hybrid. I have seen many different bees, and bumble bee species to on them.
