Indian Eagle-owl, Pune, India by Narayanan Iyer

Picture Story

Monsoons have transformed the entire area into green carpet which hid the mystical bird. After knowing that this beauty resides here, I couldn't resist myself from visiting this place. It has mastered the art of disappearance, hence, it was not easy to find it. Scanning the area, we stumbled upon dark colour with black, brown and white feathers with pale underparts and piercing orange eyes staring right into our souls, the Indian Eagle Owl waited in silence observing us all the time in this lush green environment. Each time I see this bird, I am engulfed in its magical aura and my love for it doubles. To me, owls are the living work of art possessing mysterious abilities.

Give them respect
They deserve it
They are here
For millions of years
Hurting them
Or shoo-ing them
Or being afraid of them
Has to change
A small change in our perspective
Can make a huge difference
Coz change starts from within
