The image shows a fly (Stomorhina sp.) on an Asparagus racemosus flower. With close to 1,60,000 species, flies are significant pollinators. I wanted to record an image of the fly with pollen stuck on their body part. I sat on the ground and started observing a fly with my magnifying glass. As it moved, it was holding on to the anther of a flower which has the pollen. I recorded this image when the fly was holding an anther with its front legs and pollen was stuck on another leg. With shrinking habitats, small home gardens play a significant role in the ecosystem by providing habitat for numerous life-forms.
