Brushtail Possum, Chinaman’s Island, Yarrawonga, Australia by Robert Pyne

This Common Brushtail Possum is a real character. I have been observing it for a number of years and every spring it spends its day just lazy in this tree. I was told it must be stressed as there are no hollows for it. This is totally incorrect as I have photos of it in a hollow nearby. It appears it just loves its spot in a tree beside Lake Mulwala that also gets a good bit of sun. This particular day it was sound asleep until the Mosquito decided to land on its nose. I look forward to walking around Chinaman's Island in Spring this year to meet up with it again.
