Blue tit, Halifax West Yorkshire, United Kingdom by Steve Midgley

Picture Story

I spend most of early April in my local woods looking for nests I can photograph later when the chicks are being fed. Walking up one of the paths I only just spotted this blue tit behind a huge beak full of moss ready to line its nest. I quickly took a couple of shots before backing away as it turned out I was very close to its chosen nest hole. I will keep an eye on the nest as I pass and hopefully when the chicks have hatched I can take some pictures of busy parents feeding the young.
