Andy Howard is a professional wildlife photographer and guide based in Inverness, supplying images and features to newspapers and magazines. Andy also offers a guiding service for professionals and camera crews, workshops and photo tours, where the emphasis is on teaching, customer experience and respecting wildlife.

How did you begin your journey into wildlife photography and how has your career developed?
My interest in nature started when I was about five years old. My parents gave me a book on birds and it developed from there. Whenever we were travelling around the country on family holidays, I always insisted we visit the nearest bird reserve. We moved to the Black Isle, near to Inverness, when I was ten years old. Being immersed into a wildlife-rich environment, with dolphins visible from our home, ignited a flame which burned brighter the more time I spent with nature...
