I am a keen amateur nature photographer, with an interest in photographing wildlife, landscapes and the night sky. I started out in 2016, and have not looked back since. I am proud to have become the Quilter Cheviot Capturing the Moment winner in 2018.

One of the most charismatic birds to photograph are Atlantic puffins; their colourful appearance, natural charisma and clown-like appearance endears them to almost everyone. Appropriately, one of their nicknames is ‘clowns of the sea’ and, as soon as you get close, it’s clear to see why - they strut around confident, but ungainly - undoubtedly due to the fact they spend most of their lives at sea. Being on land simply isn’t in their nature, but is a necessary part of their breeding, whereas in water they are very adept swimmers and literally fly through the water...
