Interview with Suzi Eszterhas
Wildlife photographer Suzi Eszterhas reveals all about capturing family dynamics on camera, her radical younger years and unforgettable experiences in the bush

Why did you decide to become a wildlife photographer?
The answer to that is I don’t know. It’s kind of like I was born with that mission. Ever since I can remember and apparently even as a small child, I used to tell my mom that I was going to live in a tent in Africa and I grew up idolising Jane Goodall and Diane Fossey. For me, wildlife was the passion and photography was my avenue towards being with wildlife and loving wildlife. I had a brief period where I thought maybe I’d be like Diane Fossey or Jane Goodall, but then I discovered that I really didn’t like science. I was really quite crappy at things like math, but I really excelled in the more creative parts of schooling.
