May 13: The closing date for entries to the 19th Montier Photo Festival international photo competition is rapidly approaching. The competition, which closes for entries on May 31, is open to nature photographers from all over the world, both amateur and professional. Last year’s overall winner was amateur photographer Evelyne Mary Offenstein, an ophthalmologist from Strasbourg, who was interviewed in the current issue of Wild Planet. Last year’s competition attracted more than 9,000 entries from all over the world, and the category winners are published in the new issue of Wild Planet, available to download from midnight tomorrow.
Entry to both the International and Young competitions is free and the winning images will be exhibited at the 19th Montier Photo Festival from 19-22 November. Last year’s festival attracted more than 40,000 visitors! For the International Competition and the Young Competition, entries need to be pictures of fauna, flora, or landscape, as well as documentary images depicting habitat and species conservation and biodiversity.
There are three age groups in the Young Competition: 8-11, 12-15, 16-18. Last year, the nine categories in the International Competition received more than 9,000 entries in total, from 31 countries.
