Welcome to the new-look April issue! I would like to start by thanking Keith Wilson, our previous editor, for all his work on Wild Planet during the past two years and to wish him well in his future endeavours – and also to extend a very warm welcome to our new Deputy Editor, Lorna Dockerill, who has joined the WPM team and will be keeping us all on our toes.

Over the coming months, starting with the next issue, we have invited some incredible wildlife photographers from around the world to jump into the Wild Planet Editor’s chair for the month to share their experiences, inspirations and images. We really look forward to working with each and every one of them and hope you will enjoy seeing and reading their visions, in their own words, alongside our new-look Wild Planet content.

So, for the May issue you won’t be seeing my photo here. Instead, I will be handing the Editor’s baton to Mark Sisson. Mark is an internationally published professional photographer based in Shropshire, UK and a long-standing contributor to WPM. He was also the first ever winner of the video category in the 2011 British Wildlife Photography Awards, and overall winner of Outdoor Photographer of the Year the same year. With Mark’s diverse portfolio and extensive travel and knowledge, it’s sure to be an interesting issue.

Finally, many of you requested we bring out the magazine on the 1st of each month. So, from now on all future issues will be published on the 1st of each month exactly. The May issue will be out on the 1st of May, the June issue on the 1st of June and so on.
