More Best Shots Than Ever
With this issue of Wild Planet we celebrate our second birthday! To mark the occasion, our regular Best Shots gallery of reader images is considerably bigger than usual – featuring more of your images. Wild Planet is committed to showcasing your work and we have expanded our gallery pages to give more space to your images.
The submissions page on our website reveals all the ways you can have your work published and, more importantly, seen by our audience of thousands through our social media pages. As well as Best Shots, you can upload a portfolio of images for Reader Focus or Photographer of the Week, or send in a single image for Opening Shot or Photo of the Week. And how about sending in your image for our front cover? Sharad Agrawal of India is the photographer behind this month’s cover. A great capture.
Wild Planet Annual 2015
Speaking of covers, thank you to everyone who submitted pictures to our recent Capture the Cover competition to find a cover image for the Wild Planet Annual 2015. I’m sifting through dozens of images now and it won’t be long now till you can download the Wild Planet Annual 2015 absolutely FREE from the Wild Planet website. Save the date: October 31.
Finally, congratulations to Don Gutoski for being named Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2015. His striking photo graces our Opening Shot spread in this issue and propels him into the spotlight as the winner of the world’s most prestigious award for wildlife photography. It may come as a surprise to learn that Don is not a pro, he is an amateur photographer. I think that’s great!
